In that same hour...

I was reading Matthew the other day and something struck me. Much like seeing sound, there was nothing deep and profound about the verse I read, but to me, it was incredible.

The story was of a centurion who came to Jesus and asked Him to heal his servant. The centurion plead his case stating in faith that if Jesus said it, it would be. Amazed by his faith, Jesus told him to go home and his servant would be healed. Then "...in that very hour the servant was healed." His servant wasn't healed instantly, despite Jesus being astounded by his faith, the centurion's request wasn't answered the instant He spoke. Now I, of weak and struggling faith in comparison, am amazed to see even the centurion had to wait to see his prayers come to be.

Oh God give me the patience to see my dreams come true and the tenacity to NEVER STOP DREAMING!

The Sight of Sound

Have you ever been doing something you always do when you suddenly have an "OMG" moment? A revelation so profoundly simple that you have to kick yourself for not knowing it sooner?

As I headed to church tonight, I was listening to Phil Wickham when I looked down at my water and I saw it; I saw sound.

I didn't see magical music notes or bright streaming colors of sound I simply saw sound. With each beat I watched sound as it rippled across my water. It's not like I've never seen it before, but something struck me as I watched this time.

"That's so lame!" you may be thinking, but I was totally in awe. I realized that I got to see something unseen based on its effect. My whole car was filled with sound but only my water was free to be impacted by it. My seats stood dormant, the windows made no motion, but the water was willing to take the smallest sound and send ripples throughout the whole bottle.

Oh to be like the water. Oh to be so influenced by God. Oh to be free enough to be "rippled". To have God touch my life in such a way that it spreads outwards to everyone around me like the sound rippled through my water.

God, may I be moved by you like my water was moved by sound. Thank you, God, for blessing me tonight with the sight of sound!

Humor of God...

I find it humorous how God throws certain things in the mix of life. I know that is a vague statement, but lets just say something made me literally LOL (that's for you Cassy) today. It wasn't bad laughter, in fact I guess it was more of a chuckle. Just a couple of days into 2009 and I can tell, its gonna be an interesting year!

Parting thought, I might be going back to school to get my Master's in Occupational Therapy...yeah I think I'm crazy too, you're not alone!

Day 1 of 365...

Welcome to my first image of 2009! And my first image in a series of 365 that will be taken over the next year. Yay for random projects!

I spent my day making a list of things I want to complete in 2009 I guess you could call it my New Years resolutions. Here's just a taste of my list:

8) Lose 80 lbs (yeah I'm shooting high)
13) Buy a DSLR
21) Ride my bike all the way to the beach
28) Play the bass at least 1 time in worship

Those are just a few items from my list. I think I'll probably highlight them as I complete them, how exciting!
